CDCE convenes a collaboration between VoteRiders, the Brennan Center for Justice, and Public Wise to generate useful knowledge about which Americans are most impacted by Voter ID laws. Through this collaboration CDCE published the first national survey in nearly twenty years tracking which adults lack any kind of government issued photo ID and the first state level surveys designed to see precisely how many people are affected by the requirements of specific state voter ID laws. As proposals to require documentary proof of citizenship to vote (DPOC) have proliferated in state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, This collaboration has also produced important knowledge about which Americans are not able to easily access DPOC.
