Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement Director Stella Rouse recently sat down for a conversation with (Ret.) Judge Alexander Williams, director of the Judge Alexander Williams Center for Education, Justice & Ethics, to discuss issues of democracy and civic engagement.

The interview touched on issues related to current threats to democracy, what we can do to engage young people in both voting and non-voting forms of participation, and how academia can play a crucial role in translating civic engagement research into policy solutions. All of us need to play a role in maintaining and promoting democratic principles and conversations like this bring awareness to the problems and provide a forum to exchange ideas about best practices.
