The Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement, working with the Civic Maryland Initiative in the School of Public Policy, and the Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism in the Philip Merrill College of Journalism announces the results of a new survey of UMD students. The survey focused on the 2020 presidential election, with results showing that UMD students are highly engaged. For example, 84% of students said they are absolutely certain they will vote. In addition to questions about the election, the survey also asked students about issues relating to COVID-19 and UMD sporting events. The initial results were featured in Maryland Today.
